Nucleus Training ENERGUS

About GEN II

At GEN II we pride ourselves on our expertise and personal commitment to training and workforce development which meets both learner and employer needs.

With strong foundations in a partnership culture, we work closely with the business community and partner with major employers. We are a Cumbrian based training organisation, established in June 2000 by five partner companies – Sellafield Ltd, Tata Steel Europe (formerly Corus), Amec, Iggesund Paperboard and Innovia Films.

The company employs over 95 members of staff and operates from 6 Cumbria locations with state of the art training centres based at Lillyhall, Carlisle, Sellafield and Furness. Our IT training is delivered at the GEN II Head Office at Lillyhall, Workington. We also have an additional centre in Cleator Moor, in which our Higher Education and Degree Level Programmes are delivered. In addition to apprentice training provision we also provide a full range of commercial engineering courses.

As the largest provider of training to the Civil Nuclear Sector in the UK and drawing on more than 50 years in the nuclear industry, GEN II work closely with their partners, to develop the new skills and qualifications for those joining the industry, as well as re-skilling of the present workforce.

Our wealth of experience within the Engineering an Nuclear Sector led GEN II, in 2009, to become the first training and education provider in the UK  to be awarded the Training Quality Standard with excellence in Nuclear and Engineering, an award which recognises GEN II’s outstanding work with employers, delivering training and development solutions to which reflect employers’ need and expectations.

As an innovative training provider GEN II are continually developing and expanding their portfolio, so please be sure to visit this website in the future to keep up to date with the development and evolution of our training delivery.
