GEN II are a quality assured provider for the National Skills Academy for Nuclear, providing a range of products and services including Apprenticeship schemes, Foundation Degrees. Each provider has successfully completed the Skills Academy’s rigorous application process, involving achieving high standards of attainment within the educational regulatory system, a written application and further examination by the Skills Academy Team.

A partner approach to training has enabled GEN II  to fully understand future skills requirements of the Nuclear sector and develop new programmes such as the ‘Nuclear Operator’ apprenticeship and Foundation Degrees in Nuclear Related Science with their partner organisation – Sellafield Ltd.

It is this understanding of the needs of employers in this sector which led to GEN II being the first work based learning provider in the UK to be awarded the Training Quality Standard with excellence in Engineering and Nuclear. TQS is one of the highest training accolades possible and is an award which recognises GEN II’s outstanding work with employers.

Having already been recognised as a Centre of Vocational Excellence for Nuclear Engineering and Technology, GEN II have invested heavily in state of the art resources like a fully functional rig simulation control plant and on-line learning programmes for radiological skills.
