GEN II first in the UK to achieve TQS - June 2009

GEN II is delighted to announce that we have successfully achieved Training Quality Standard.

We are the first work based learning provider in the UK to be awarded the Training Quality Standard (TQS) with excellence in Nuclear and Engineering. TQS is one of the highest training accolades possible and is an award which recognises our outstanding work with employers.

Designed by the Learning and Skills Council and replacing CoVE Status (Centre of Vocational Excellence) the Training Quality Standard recognises and accredits providers, who can demonstrate excellence in delivering training solutions to employers, which meet their needs and positively impacts on their business outcomes.

We are extremely proud to have achieved this standard, Mike Smith, Managing Director of GEN II said "We are delighted to have been awarded the quality standard, particularly as this is an endorsement of the excellent work that GEN II does with Nuclear and Engineering employers.  Part of the assessment process for the Training Quality Standard involved feedback from our employers and we were delighted with the positive comments received from them.  The feedback is a testament to the quality of what we provide and the dedication of our staff.

The Training Quality Standard sets us apart from the competition and further enhances our reputation as a leading provider of training and development solutions for business. The standard is recognition of the focus and understanding we have of the needs of employers in our region and our commitment to helping them meet their skills needs. Employer Engagement is central to GEN II’s strategy and service offering.”

The National Skills Academy for Nuclear, who are the body created to address skill shortages in the nuclear industry are hoping the all training providers will aim to achieve this standard and congratulated GEN II on being the first in UK to achieve excellence in Nuclear.  Jean Llewellyn, Chief Executive of the National Skills Academy for Nuclear said "We are delighted that GEN II has achieved the TQS Standard, which is a testament to the quality provision GEN II offer employers.  The National Skills Academy for Nuclear encourages all of its Quality Assured providers to work towards the TQS standard, as a definitive mark of excellence in delivering training solutions to employers.  We are very proud of the fact that the first work based learning provider in the UK to be awarded the Training Quality Standard with ‘excellence’ in Nuclear and Engineering is part of our Quality Assured network of providers.  We are hopeful that GEN II, will soon be followed by other providers from our network."
