Train to Gain
Train to Gain is a new service from the Learning and Skills Council (LSC), designed to help business get the training it needs to succeed.
In July 2006 GENII along with System Group and the four Cumbrian Colleges who form the Cumbria College Consortium, won the major share of Train to Gain places allocated to Cumbria.
Through train to gain we are able to provide free training to qualifying employees to help gain their first, full NVQ level 2 training qualification.
The consortium won almost 250 places and can provide the following courses:
- Business Improvement Techniques
- ITQ
- Nuclear Decommissioning
- Chemical Operations
- Performing Engineering Operations
- Performing Manufacturing Operations
As the qualifications are NVQ assessment based they can be provided both on and off employers site, to suit employers need.
Do I qualify?
Free train to gain training is available for any employee who does not already have an NVQ Level 2 or above or has not gained 5 GCSE grades A-C.
